Beginner's Guide To Cruise Holidays : Cruises In Hawaii

By Jim Avery

Hawaii is the topic for this part of our cruise holidays guide...

Experiencing a Hawaii cruise is a dream come true for many people around the world. Very few travel adventures can live up to the thrill of sailing out into the depths of the Pacific Ocean on a luxury cruise liner in search of a paradise that is Hawaii and her neighboring islands. If you have never been to paradise, then here's your chance! Golden sunsets, sun-drenched sands and palm trees swaying in the warm gentle breeze await all who take a Hawaiian cruise.

There are many ports of call all along the western coasts of North America for those hailing from Canada all the way down to North America. Los Angeles, San Francisco and Vancouver all offer ports from which you can depart from.

Hawaii cruise vacations normally comprise of a round-trip of 15-18 days and take in Hawaii and one or two ports on the other islands in the group. But you can always pay for a one-way trip to Hawaii on a cruise ship and then fly to your next destination from her international airport.

Many companies also offer extended Hawaii cruise vacations of 25-30 days or more. This option is fantastic if you believe that a short stay will not allow you to do all the things you want to do, like visit the North Shore; go to an authentic luau; or even play golf on one of the 80 courses Hawaii has to offer.

A Hawaiian cruise offers more than just drinking hurricanes by the beach; there are many other adventures you can discover there. On the Big Island of Hawaii, you can become a fearless explorer through the Kilauea crater, or the larger dormant volcanoes in Mauna Kea. If you don't like to hike, you can also do a helicopter tour through the Circle of Fire.

On the south end of Hawaii near Kona is a botanical walk through the Kona Cloud Forest. If you are into water sports, there are various types, you can even take a submarine into the depths and explore over 25 acres of coral reef the area boasts.
